Hey guys, just found out I have hpv (tested negative last year, possibly got it from my bf) I’m seeing my gyn this Friday but I’m freaked out. I know my body can clear it and did a lot of research, and will ask her questions, but anyone currently going through this or went through it? I’m already having pain in my left ovary due to the follicular cysts I have, so I’m freaking about about both, and am worried about my fertility in the long run (had chlamydia before and worried about PID too), and of course everyone’s experience is different just having a hard time and would appreciate any tips/advice. Last year when I went for my annual pap exam in February I got test positive for HPV. I got a colposcopy to confirm that I had it in case it was a false positive. Over the summer when I went to my OBGYN for birth control refill, breast exam, check blood pressure, etc I got a Pap smear again because my doctor said that you should get it every 6 months to monitor it and if it changes then treatment, but if it stays the same then that’s good. When I got my results back it came back negative so I was very relieved about that news.

I had it in one test and was told to get a newer test in a few months and my body cleared it up!

I had it and I had to have a pap smear done every year. I had two positive tests, one in 2016 and one in 2017. My body cleared it on its own and I tested negative in 2018. I was really scared, but I did a lot of research and my doctor reassured me that it was extremely common and it usually clears on its own.

HPV is super common most people get one HPV infection in their life time most go away on their own.

Remember many people have it and don’t know they do because it doesn’t have noticeable symptoms most of the time
