I got this piercing about 2 months ago (have took it out tonight because it’s just been a bother) and seen this lump. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what it is? It’s not constantly painful and only sore a bit if i go and touch it? I’m going to continue with my salt water cleaning and sprays but other than that idk

It could be a keloid?

I had something similar when my industrial piercing was healing & it would get worse when my hair would tug on it. Just keep cleaning it with salt water & it should be okay (:

It’s a keloid I had one on my nose when I first got my nose piercing done make a salt paste with a tiny bit of hot water and put it on over night works a miracle mine went away in 3 days

It’s hypertrophic scarring. I had that on my tragus and double auricle piercings to the point where I took them out. I did the sea salt soaks religiously but couldn’t get rid of them. Considering you took the piercing out, if you leave it out, it’ll correct itself in a couple weeks.

I have something similar on my nose and the only thing that’s been helping is an aspirin paste. So crushed aspirin, with no coating, and some drops of water. You let it dry on the piercing for like 10 mins and rinse, I do it 2-3 times a day.

I read a few years back when I had my daith pierced and had something similar, it definitely looks like a keloid. Anyway, I read that tea tree oil helps bring it down. It’s basically just building scar tissue.

See tho a keloid I heard, as youse have said is scar tissue. This seems to have pus (ew) inside it which I didn’t realise until after I took it out which according to online seems to be an infection? I’ll attach a photo of it now that the piercing is out

I have just had constant bother with it ever since I got it done, even tho I clean it every day :( @a_marieee You don’t reckon then it can get trapped inside? I read that because I’ve taken the piercing out it can get trapped inside the closed hole and cause an abscess? @cEk02 I’ll try that thanks! @uNcrushablep Oh perfect I never thought of that. I’ll try that too!

Ahhh don’t take your piercings out ever until it’s completely healed!! That’s the golden rule!! You are adding bacteria in

NEVER take them out especially cartilage piercings. I leave mine in a year and never touch them and have never had a problem! Just keep cleaning and let it calm down. Don’t spin the hoop or anything because you’re adding the bacteria from the outside of the hoop into the open would inside😩

@Pilluser01 You’re not suppose to take out your piercing until it heals, that would make it take longer to heal, your allowing bacteria in. Put jewelry back in, continue to cleaning it 3 times a day with salt water & don’t touch.

Unfortunately, the hole probably closed already

I know I’m aware you’re not meant to take it out but I’ve had absolutely nothing but bother with it since I’ve had it done that I just had too :( my other cartilage piercings have always been completely fine as I have my helix etc done but this one has just been hard work and has never wanted to settle, the lump was went down a lot since I’ve taken it out and the pain has went down a good bit as well. So hoping for the best

I’d wait and get it re pierced! I can imagine that one wouldn’t be a fun time being infected!😕
