Hi can someone help please. I’ve been taking birth control pill for about five months the pill was called Eloine I decided to stop taking it just give my body a bit of a break and see what it’s like having my normal cycle is back. When I stopped my birth-control i didn’t have a withdrawal bleed which I thought it was a bit odd… 3 weeks later still no period I toke a clear blue pregnancy test says not pregnant. I’m really worried 😟 does anyone know why this is happening.

it takes up to a year for your body to adjust to being off of the pill. side effects include late and even missed periods. going on and off of birth control can increase your risk of blood clots so if you plan on going back on birth control i would wait a year at least

Your body doesn’t need a break from birth control. Starting and stopping birth control is only going to confuse your body and can increase your chance of getting blood clots. It is best to stay on birth control long term or stay off and just rely on condoms. When you go off of birth control your body needs to adjust. It could take up to 9 months or longer for your body to adjust to being off of birth control. If you do decide to go on birth control again your body will need to adjust to being on birth control again. There is a 3-6 month adjustment period.
