He doesn’t want to use a condom as it is uncomfortable which I totally understand so would taking a morning after pill work or will it effect the mini pill I am on? Do you mean 6 days after your break week? If so you are still protected, even during your break week. If you literally just started taking the pill and this is your first pack then you are not. Check your packet to see what it recommends. As for the burden of birth control….. pumping your body with hormones is also “uncomfortable”. We are adults who are making decisions for ourselves - you both want to have sex without risking a pregnancy, right? Then he can freaking help out with that by wearing a condom if he needs to, it’s not that crazy. Sorry idk why I’m triggered by that right now lol. Yes some morning after pills like Ella One do affect the pill. Also taking emergency contraception can cause all kinds of side effects that are definitely "uncomfortable" for you. I agree with @boi_ !!

If you are on the mini pill though (progesterone-only pill) you're protected after 2 days.

Honestly I would keep using condoms for the first month or two until you get used to your birth control and get a feel whether you will want to use it long term. Also gives you time to get in a routine with it. Mistakes are most common during early use.
