I haven’t been taking birth control for about two weeks due to medical reasons. Today me and my boyfriend had sex and we think that at some point the condom broke. I took a plan B pill and resumed my birth control but i still feel really nervous. I have never taken a plan b before and im not sure if there are any side effects. Am k safe from being pregnant or should i take a pregnancy test?? please help🙁

Are you guys sure the condom broke? Because you guys don’t sound so certain about it. Plan B has an extreme amount of hormones, so it’s very likely you will experience side effects because you took it. Because it’s such a large dose it’s possible to still experience side effects weeks (or month) into the future. Please read the pamphlet before you take something. Taking plan B doesn’t mean you are automatically safe. It will prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation but if you were already ovulating it won’t do anything. There is no point in taking a pregnancy test now, you need to wait at least 21 days for accurate results and then take a test.

You should always take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after taking Plan B just to confirm that it worked

@026eli plan B should be taken within 3 days (72 hours). You’re talking about EllaOne which can be taken up to 5 days after sex and makes your birth control ineffective after taking it. Either way, taking emergency contraception does not mean someone is deemed safe. You still need to test.
