hey yal so anyone with dogs i have some concerns with my 11 week old puppy so i took him to the vet so start his vaccines they gave him dapp combo vaccine but i noticed they gave it on his lower back like kinda above where his tail is which i have never seen ive always seen it in the fatty area of the neck, after this vaccine he started having diarrhea constantly for 4 days they said bring his stool to test and ended up saying he has hookworms so they gave 5 syringes of 1.1 cc/ml of fembendazole one a day for 5 days well i looked it up and for a puppy weighing 10 lbs the dosage is 2.3 not 1.1 and im sure he got the worms from the vet because he never had any diarrhea or anything of the sort before going there i never put him down besides the scale and exam table he stays inside at home and i have no other animals and they also got his coat and age wrong on his paperwork so basically all red flags all around. so should i switch vets or like call around for opinions because giving the vaccine in the wrong area and wrong dosage of dewormer i feel they’re not really caring about him and his well being and with everything done wrong he’s un protected once he’s supposedly done with all his vaccines i’m just worried about him

besides all this he’s eating drinking playing as normal even when the diarrhea started after the vet 4 days ago he is still his same self besides the constant diarrhea but i’m worried the wrong dosage of the dewormer is not gonna kill them all and i know they can be fatal to puppies. also about the vaccine given in the different than normal area i’m worried it won’t be effective or as effective

My dogs have gotten vaccines around their butt area before. It’s a pretty common area for shots. If your puppy has been drinking and eating like normal there is no reason to be too worried. Is the treatment working at all? Has it gotten any better? My older dog had diarrhea for 2 weeks in the past and they needed treatment for 3-4 weeks for it to be completely resolved. She took pills though. You can bring up the dosage question but if you don’t trust your vet I would just completely swapping to a new one, because if you don’t trust them it’s never going to work out.
