Hi everyone. I know most pregnancy tests say that you have to read the results within 5 minutes, and then after that time frame you’re supposed to throw them away. However, I took a test this morning and it was negative and then I forgot to put it in the bin. When I remembered and went to discard it, a very very faint line had appeared in the positive window 😳 I took another test and that one said negative too but I’m currently waiting for my period and woke up in the middle of the night last night feeling really sick and I vomited a little. I still don’t feel right today. Do we think this is a false positive reading? I really hope so as I’m panicking a little bit.

And that's why you are supposed to read them within a certain time frame. It's not a valid reading when you read it outside the specified timeframe

I believe they aren't accurate anymore after some hours have passed.

That happens because I think it’s the urine that mixes with the entire test and just automatically releases the dye because of it being wet if that makes any sense lol

All pregnancy tests would eventually give a feint positive line if left long enough it doesn’t mean you are pregnant. That’s why you have to read them in an explicit time frame.

It’s an evaporation line and it can make the test read as positive That is why you are supposed to read them within the time frame it says on the packaging.
