ADHD/binge eating I eat a pretty balanced diet and make sure I enjoy myself too, so I’d say I have a pretty healthy relationship with food now (I broke the teenage yoyo diet/binge eating habits years ago). Something happens when I visit family though (they live a few hours away) and I can’t seem to control myself at all, I’ll binge eat snacks and get really carried away. I don’t know why I do this because it’s not like I restrict myself at home and wouldn’t have a cookie if I wanted one. Half the time I don’t even really want that snack it’s just there. I don’t have this problem when I go on long holidays and am eating out for breakfast/dinner, I tend to get a balance still, which I find odd. Idk if it’s because I’m around other people who are eating quite unhealthy and my brain/adhd can’t handle it. Has anyone experienced similar or has learnt how to manage adhd food noise without meds?

Are you potentially more stressed when visiting family? Is it disruptive to your routine? Both things happen to me when I'm visiting family so I'm wondering if you're eating to counteract any stressful emotions

@aurielle I’m not more stressed but I guess I’m out of routine (especially as I live alome & usually keep myself busy). I wfh & try to still do gym/classes while there though.
