hey guys just got prescribed a new pill yet again - my break is only gonna be 4 days (according to the blister) and ill still have to take pills throughout my 4 day break - am i still gonna get my period? pill : daylette

no the pills you take on the break won’t have the same chemicals in them they will most likely be sugar pills but research the brand and see what the extra pills are if you think different

You don’t get your period while on birth control, you either have a breakthrough bleed which happens when you’re taking active pills or a withdrawal bleed which happens on break days/week

the sugar pills don’t have any hormones so they won’t affect anything and you will have your period they’re just to keep your body used to taking a pill everyday

@eleenaaes mini pills don’t have a break or sugar pills. Only combined pills do. Please do some research on what you’re taking so you can make sure you’re using it correctly. Either way you don’t get a period when on birth control like @seechell mentioned.

@eleenaaes yeah that’s the same thing. Placebo pills are made with sugar. They don’t contain any active ingredients. It’s not a mini pill.

@eleenaaes placebo/sugar pills only exist to keep you on track. You don’t even have to take them. Have you read your pamphlet? It explains what type of pill you’re on and how to use it correctly. Don’t rely on doctors or gyno’s to instruct you. Always do your own research using credible sources which are backed up by scientific research (and avoid social media). And if you’re being prescribed new pills that’s something to confront your gyno or pharmacist about. We don’t know why that happened.

There are some that exist, Yaz for example is a combination pill and has 4 day break. Depends on the brand.
