Hey all. I have a question about birth control pills. I’m currently coming off of birth control after my current pack and decided to skip to my “break week” of pills one week early. (I am on an extended pill so I only get a break week once every 3 months). Does anyone know if this will affect my protection? I had intercourse this morning and did not use backup protection. Also, I will be using backup protection once fully off birth control of course.

You can start ur break week early as long as you have taken 7 active pills before you take ur break.

You’ll be fine but I would recommend continuing for another month just to use that time to get back in the routine of using condoms. Mistakes are easily made when you’ve been used to not using them. Also keep in mind that your body might need 12-16 months to adjust being off birth control.
