Fast weight loss is not healthy. Without exercise, it is very hard to lose weight. You have to be in an extreme deficit and that’s hard for people to maintain. Things like hormones can affect how well you can lose weight too. I could not lose a single pound when I was on Depo but I started losing when I stopped it. I don’t know if you’re on birth control or not and I’m not telling you to stop it, but just saying that it’s not always as simple as counting calories for all of us.

As you said yourself weight loss isn’t supposed to be quick. Please be careful dieting can be a very slippery slope. It’s going to take consistency and time. I would encourage you add more into your life and diet rather than taking away, more water, more fruit and veg, more home cooking, more self love and acceptance. I’d also recommend focusing less on the scales because that number doesn’t really mean anything. You’re not going to hit a magic number and bam! gain all the self love and confidence. You are more than what the scales says.

I’ve lost weight by going vegetarian. You’d be surprised the amount of vegetables you can eat for the same calorie cost as meats. I find meats tend to be cooked in more oil and require more sauces to taste good, adding to calories. Plus there is a lot of sodium, as a lot of meat is injected with saltwater (particularly poultry), which increases bloating, inflammation, and causes high blood pressure. Also reduce breads, increase protein. Pick healthy grains such as rice over pasta or use whole grain pasta. This is what has helped me, but everyone is different! It might be worth seeking advice from a dietitian.
