I’ve lost weight by going vegetarian. You’d be surprised the amount of vegetables you can eat for the same calorie cost as meats. I find meats tend to be cooked in more oil and require more sauces to taste good, adding to calories. Plus there is a lot of sodium, as a lot of meat is injected with saltwater (particularly poultry), which increases bloating, inflammation, and causes high blood pressure.
Also reduce breads, increase protein. Pick healthy grains such as rice over pasta or use whole grain pasta.
