I’m near the end of my withdrawal bleed but have started my new pack (today is day 3 of active pills). I’ve taken all my pills correctly so far. I had sex today, am I still protected even though I’m still on my withdrawal bleed and haven’t had 7 active pills yet?

If you’ use your pills correctly you’re protected during and right after your break. What matters is your pill usage, the bleeding doesn’t mean anything in regards to protection. The 7 active pills only counts for when you first start your pill outside of your period or after you’ve become unprotected.

You should be protected. The 7 active pills window is really for when you’re first starting the pill. If you’re using the pill correctly you should be protected even when you finish your withdrawal bleeding as long as you start a new pack
