i missed a pill !!! was supposed to take it yesterday at 10 pm and today at 10 pm, i realized i missed it. i checked my pamphlet and it said to take it when i remember to - so i took two pills at the same time (10 pm). that’s fine right? am i still protected?

It depends on your specific pill. Usually the combined pill says your okay if that happens but with the mini pill you would most likely not be protected not be.

Definitely check your pamphlet or look up your medication and see what it says. Hopefully you’re okay tho!

@ssimbana hi !!! thank you! i’m on the combined pill - Linessa 28 and the pamphlet did say to just take it when you remember it. it doesn’t say anything about protection but i’m paranoid bc i took it outside of the 24 hr window 🫩

I was reading about it and it seems like you are okay! it just says risk for pregnancy increases but not that you are completely unprotected 👍🏼 the wording was confusing but I think it only becomes unprotective after two consecutive missed pills which u would then have to wait I think a week to be safe again depending on where it was in the pack. 👍🏼

Your pamphlet would specify to use a back up method, since it doesn’t mention that you’re fine. Your pamphlet will only contain info you need to know.

@ssimbana yeah the wording does confuse me !! + i wish they were more specific because online, i was checking and it said i was protected if i took it within 24 hrs but i took it at exactly after 24 hrs and a little bit over. hopefully i am fine tho, ty!!!

@mxflo they will only mention actions to take, so if you don’t need another back up method they won’t mention it. Pamphlets are meant to be as direct as possible without unnecessary text. Take the text as literal as possible and you’re golden.

@Yi_eune @Yi_eune omg i thought i missed a pill but i actually didn’t and i already took two last night 😭 should i just keep taking them regularly and when i am short out of this week’s pill, i take one from my emergency pack?
