Does anyone’s partner not like their mum or dad but your relationship is still thriving?

As in your partner does not like your parent(s)?

Well I have a bad relationship with my father and my partner knows why. Therefore, he doesn’t have the best opinion of my father either. In my opinion, I don’t think it’s necessary for partners to like parents or parents go like partners. I know it’s important to lots of people, but at the end of the day, they are separate relationships.

If they can be civil then I don’t see the problem.

My boyfriend just doesn’t like what mum does and says but mum is refusing to change

I agree, I’ve been a pillar of strength for my parents and I’ve been made to feel to choose between them and my partner. I think healthy boundaries is key!
