Hi has anyone tried a progesterone only pill called dogestrol as I’ve been given it but I’m scared about side effects and potential bleeding through the pill- my gp gave it to me as I keep bleeding through the combined pill has anyone had any experience on the mini pill?

If you look up the words “progesterone only pill” or “mini pill” (what progesterone only pills are usually called) or “desogestrel” or any brand name of a pill with the exact same ingredients as your pill, you’ll find lots of old posts on here discussing experiences Bear in mind people tend to complain about things rather than give positive feedback so don’t worry if you only see negative comments 😅

I’m on that pill and this is my 6th month on it - I have experienced breakthrough bleeding and will have it every couple of weeks but over time it has slowly gotten lighter - it is a bit annoying but it takes time for your body to adjust !
