Yes, irregular bleeding (breakthrough bleeding) is a side effect of the pill, especially if you are just starting it. You need to give your body a few months to adjust to the pill. If you are taking your pill correctly you don’t need to worry :)

@Angel420 thanks for answering!! yes, i started the pill this month. i switched to it from the Evra patch as i was experiencing spotting/breakthrough bleeding on the patch. i was hoping switching to the pill would help and was just a bit worried that it didn’t as i started spotting again.

Yes when I was on a particular pill brand a few years ago I started very lightly bleeding 2-4 days before the break week, every single month.
