My ex bf and I are close but I don’t really understand the other day he told me to be quiet whilst he was on speaker to his mates over the phone. I asked him why u make me be quiet whilst u was over the phone, like are you embarrassed by me - I said. He said that no he wasn’t embarrassed just he didn’t want to explain over the phone to his mates that he saw me over Easter break and that he would rather explain it to them in person so he like didn’t get any hassle or something over the phone from them. I don’t really understand that when his mates know we see each other most weekends but what is there to explain to his mates? What do you think I should do or ask him more questions about this?

He probably didn’t want you to hear the reaction they’d have finding out about him being with you in that moment. Sounds messy and I’d personally want no part of it. Either that or it’s more sus

Are you sure his mates know he sees you regularly? ^ and can you answer the first question above about what you mean by you and your ex are ‘close’ as I think that would help add some context

It sounds to me like he didn’t want to hear his friends’ reaction to you being there with him.
