Hey all. I have been off birth control for about a year now and my period has been super consistent! Very happy with coming off, HOWEVER…this month I am a week late on my period and I’ve been feeling super hormonal. I took two pregnancy tests and they are both negative (it may still be too soon). I was sick for about a month and I’m wondering if that is causing the late period or if I may be pregnant. I have been extremely tired, very emotional, some extremely light cramping, puffy face, and a high sex drive. I’m wondering if my hormones are just going crazy because of the illness that my body was fighting for so long. Let me know your thoughts because being pregnant is my absolute worst fear and I’ve been super stressed about it. I am an adult (22) and have been in a very very unhealthy living situation for many many years and so being pregnant would be an issue for me. Thank you!

Stress, illness, changes in sleep/diet/lifestyle are some things that can have a big impact on your body and therefore your menstrual cycle x

Definitely make sure to use some kind of contraceptive if you aren’t wanting to get pregnant, what bluerose9 said is all things I would say aswell as adding that a normal cycle can fluctuate anywhere between 21-35 days. If you make it to 2 weeks after your period was supposed to start test again and consult a doctor if it is still coming up negative to see if there’s anything wrong

@Monkeybutt63 thank you! Yes we use a contraceptive method but I know sometimes they fail and we are just worried.
