hi everybody! so, last month I skipped my pill (the placebos) and started taking a new pack of the same birth control pill because my boyfriend and I are long distance so I didn’t wanted to have my period while staying with him. So now a month later, I had my period and after it ended, I still have some pink discharge. It’s not always, and it doesn’t hurt, smell or itch. But it’s def there sometimes and it’s been like 4 days since my period is over. I haven’t been able to go to the doctor yet. Does anybody else experienced the same? I’m a bit scared.

Irregular bleeding is completely normal, it’s just some light bleeding. If you are using your birth control correctly it’s nothing to worry about.

@Yi_eune oh thank you so much! I was worried because I’m a bit hypochondriac and it’s hard to find doctor appointments where I live so I just wanted to make sure. I’ve been taking my birth control pill everyday. Do you think I should be aware at like how long it stays like this, I mean if I have this for another week can it be more concerning or still normal? Thank you once again 🫶🏾

@sneakers350 it could last for multiple weeks and it wouldn’t be alarming.

Irregular bleeding is a common side effect of the pill and unfortunately bleeding constantly or on and off for days or weeks on end is common on the pill. There’s no way to predict how long it’ll last

Some people still bleed a little bit when skipping their placebo week if it’s the first time they’ve skipped it! It might just be something related to that but I wouldn’t worry about it unless there were other concerning symptoms (eg. Extreme pain)
