Does anyone have any holy grail acne treatments? I got prescribed to doxycycline and I’ve been taking it for abt a week But developed 4 huge under the skin cyst type pimples along my jawline. I have a bunch of red marks too on my forehead but they’re mostly fat. I read about castor oil being good bc it’s anti inflammatory? I’ve tried everything I feel like and I just want clear skin for Christmas. Pls any advice would be much appreciated 🫶🏼

Unfortunately your skin needs to purge first. Antibiotics work great but they don’t work over night. With Doxy it took me about 6 months for the breakouts to slow down and about a year for my skin to clear up. Getting back on hormonal birth control also helped soooooo much. Having a consistent and simple skincare routine also helps. I use the Cerave Acne wash day and night, I use the Neutrogena morning acne medicine in the morning, and then a sunscreen during the day and a moisturizer at night.

I second the nutrogena acne wash for an at home solution. What worked amazingly for me was a sulfur- sulfa face wash prescribed by a doc. I had zero acne with that stuff, but I stopped due to the smell bothering me. Sulfur like smell, but clear skin!

There isn't going to be any holy grail products that will work better than what your dermatologist has prescribed.

to be totally honest. the most affordable and helpful product i’ve ever used is called zapzyt. it’s a benzoyl peroxide gel and i put it on my spots at night and let it sit.. and it gets rid of them in a few days. it’s cheap so take that advice with a grain of salt, but i was honestly shocked by it.
