In this situation, since you are taking your pill consistently and have not missed any doses, the likelihood of pregnancy is lower. Additionally, the fact that you peed immediately after can also help reduce the risk, as it can help flush out any sperm that may have entered your body. So yes, you will be okay

this isn’t true- you can’t flush out sperm by peeing

but if you have been taking your pill correctly you are protected from pregnancy anyway. also you don’t usually ovulate on the pill so any app you’re using to track ovulation is essentially useless

thank you! i just got off my period last week and started my new pack sunday so i’ve been taking my new birth control pack for 3 days i haven’t taken it yet today until tonight. so i was just wondering if i should be concerned.

i’m confused how long was your break and is your pill time not till tonight or have you not taken it yet?

18:33
i don’t take the “sugar pills” as i get my period. so at the end of the pack i don’t start a new one right away. until after my period. my pill time is usually at night so i haven’t taken todays pill yet

so you wait till you stop bleeding to start taking your pill again?

Jun 26
18:35
yes, after the week of sugar pills which ends on saturday so i start sunday again

18:36
so you are taking a 7 day break and starting taking the pills on the 8th day every time then. you’re not just waiting for your bleeding to stop and starting the next pack right?

Jun 26
18:36
yes.

to clairify- it isn’t a period it’s a withdrawal bleed. and as long as you only had a 7 day break you are protected during the break and also afterwards if you are taking your pill correctly, a break wouldn’t exist if we weren’t protected during it and after it on the combined pill. so as long as you took your pill correctly you shouldn’t be concerned no- a lot of correct pill users let their partners finish in them, like myself

it’s up to you. if you do make sure to contact your pharmacist/gp and make sure it’s okayed with them so they can give you a refill earlier as you’ll be using more pills

so just clarifying for you- your two options are: 7 days or less break, or skipping the break completely and moving onto the next pack.

You don’t ovulate while on the pill

If you take your pills as instructed you have nothing to be worried about. You also don’t ovulate when using the pill correctly.

@onthepillxo from what she said before it seems like she’s on a combined pill; which have a 24 hour window. Taking it a couple hours later than usual is fine. @snowgirl623

If you’re on the pill and using it correctly you don’t ovulate and you’re not at risk of pregnancy. If you’re ever unsure about your protection status, use condoms.
