I can’t lie it’s not great, plan b is not supposed to be used regularly or as a substitute for birth control. Are you using condoms? If you’re not dating/exclusive you should be for STI reasons too.

Yeah this is why we don't recommend stopping your birth control right when you break up....

It's not great and it also must be expensive? Use condoms.

If your goal is to NOT get pregnant you need to get back on some type of birth control.
Plan B can actually mess your hormones up for quite some time after taking it.

^ some people have irregular periods for months after taking one, what you’ve been doing will almost definitely have a massive impact on your hormones for a long while

Plan B shouldn’t be used as your birth control, is much less effective than a regular birth control (pill, IUD..) and you can’t be sure it will prevent you from getting pregnant :(

should I wait to get back on birth control after taking all of those? I was taking the cheap pills from costco

I’d say if u plan on continuing being sexually active would be best to switch to a long term BC for your safety, but is best to speak to a health care provider if you can

@my_life4557 if you took Plan B which is levonorgestrel there's no impact on birth control and you're fine to start it. If you took ulipristal acetate aka Ella One, it does affect birth control so you need to wait a certain period of time before starting a hormonal method

Why would you have unprotected sex with someone you’re broken up with.. very irresponsible. Please get back on a type of birth control if you plan to continue having unprotected sex with him. Probably also a good idea to get tested as you don’t know what he might get up to with other sex partners.

also plan b works by preventing ovulation, if you’re already ovulating when you have sex it’s essentially doing nothing and you could get pregnant
