Non hormonal iud? Im curious about getting one cuz i dont plan on having kids anytime soon and I dont like how hotmones make me feel. I havent done my research cuz im just curious about it so hoping to get answers or confirmajton 1) you get periods with it right since it doesnt have hormones? 1a) that also means libido doesnt decrease? 2) if you get it removed after long use, would pregnancy chances decrease? 3) is there a period where you get heavy periods while getting adjusted? Im thinking why use hormonal birthh control if nonhormonal is as effective if not more since you dont need to change it frequently

It's common to get heavier bleeding on the copper IUD, it may be irregular though rather than consistent periods. It doesn't have a negative impact on fertility. Check out bedsider.org or the NHS website they have lots of info on these methods.

1. Yes you would get a natural cycle with it, but it has the potential to make your periods heavier and crampier 1a. Libido naturally fluctuates so it can decrease naturally but it won’t be caused by the iud 2. Pregnancy can occur as soon as you get it out, because you’re still having a natural cycle and ovulating while using it pregnancy can happen as soon as you get it out 3. Yes it could make your periods heavier and crampier possibly for the whole time you have it or just for a short time, there’s no way to know But also be aware that if the iud shifts slightly out of place it can become ineffective you need to check the strings once a month to feel that they aren’t longer or that they are even there
