hey so people say that there’s a 3 hour time gap for taking a pill, i take mine at 8am everyday, does the 3 hours include 3 hours before and 3 after 8am or would it be like 7,8,9 ? sorry if that doesn’t make sense

It entirely depends on your type of pill whether you have a 3, 12 or 24 hour window. I recommend reading your pamphlet to figure out what usage window applies to your pill.

@Yi_eune i’m on the microgynon 30 pill, which is a combined pill and says the window is 24 hours, does that mean whatever time throughout the day is the exact same percentage of protection? i’ve read my pamphlet but i don’t really understand some of the ways it’s been phrased

@bluey1234 your usage window starts from the time you’re supposed to take it. So it’s your usual time (which would be 24 hours apart) + your usage window = total amount of time. As long as you take at least one pill in that amount of time your protection will always be guaranteed. There is no “percentage”, you either are or aren’t protected. However: taking it at the same time every day may help reduce side effects.

@Yi_eune ahhh okay, thank you i understand now, although i’ve read my pamphlet i find it easier to understand when people have explained it since it’s a bit more difficult to understand for me when it’s from a piece of paper. thank youuuu!
