My appointment for Nexplanon insertion is booked 2 weeks from today! Does anybody have any advice for the actual insertion part? I’m also unfortunately switching to the implant on the first week of my pill. I’m going to abstain for that first week, but do I just quit taking the pill when Nexplanon is put in, or should I keep taking the pill for that first week that the implant is ineffective?

(I was supposed to do it today on the last active pill of this pack, but had other reasons that I had to move the procedure to 2 weeks from now. That will mean that I am on day 7 of a new pack when it’s inserted.)

You should ask your doctor, but generally I think people are instructed to continue to take the pill for the first week of being on the implant.

@bluerose9 I was planning on making sure that was correct when I go in to see him :) But I thought so!
