SLURS!!!!!!! so i am a lesbian and i have been scrolling through tiktok and i have seen many people say that wlw cannot say the f slur. i was wondering opinions on this because i am not going to say something i cannot reclaim. however, i am not asking this so that i can proudly go and say the f slur. i am just wondering because i saw bi women saying that they can reclaim as well. sorry i am very confused lol

It’s a heavy discourse. Many feel like only gay men can say the f slur due to it mainly being used against gay men. However, many say otherwise. Anyone who were subjected to the slur is allowed to reclaim it.

In my opinion, I agree that anyone in the LGBTQ+ who was subjected to the slur should be allowed to reclaim it. I do think it’s important to educate and learn about the history of the word tho.

Honestly I have never heard this before and I think tiktok causes a lot of issues that don’t even need to be brought up. The f word shouldn’t be used no matter who you are, just like the n word shouldn’t be used no matter what. This is my opinion as those types of words are offensive or made to be deemed offensive.

I personally don’t say it. I’m not a lesbian but I’m pansexual. However, I do use the word queer to reclaim it as an identity or an umbrella term versus an insult. The F word has no positive connotation to it. So I don’t think it’s an appropriate term to reclaim. But I’m also not a gay man so I’m not sure if I even have a right to have an opinion.
