I’ve just been told I need to swap from taking the combined pill to the POP due to migraines I’ve been having. I have been on microgynon for 5 years and I’m worried about the hormonal side effects it’s going to have on me. I am nervous about it changing me, has anyone had any experiences with this, particularly what if it changes the way I feel about my boyfriend. I’m unsure if this is a myth or not but I’ve heard that it changes who you’re attracted to etc. Does anyone have any experiences with this or any reassurance to give me about swapping from the combined to POP?

It does not influence your attraction to your boyfriend, medications don’t have that power. Be sure to read the instructions on how to swap safely to your new pill. You can find these in its pamphlet. You don’t have anything to worry about because if the new pill doesn’t work out you can always try a different dosage or brand to try that.

i swapped from combined (microgynon) and switched to a POP/mini pill (cerelle) and love cerelle !!! i would never go back (and can’t as i had to switch to cerelle due to recurring yeast infections), but as said above make sure you read instructions on how to safely swap across!
