So, I’ve been taking the pill none stop for probably just under a year and had no breaks. I’ve started to bleed and it’s quite bad, almost like a ‘period’ Should I just allow the blood to come through and stop taking my pill for a week? I’m 4 days into a new pill sachet thing. Thank you!

Up to you. If your pill allows for break weeks (combined pill) then yes you can do that. Not sure if your pill pack has pills in different colors, then you may need to check your pamphlet for instructions on how to do that.

Sounds like breakthrough bleeding to me which I also experience. I just wait it out and keep taking my pills as usual

It’s been happening for quite a while now, but today’s pain was unbearable so I’m just stopping taking the pill for a week! Just feels right for my body 🫣 Thank you for your advice though!

@machinegunke I would say if the pain gets worse maybe go to the hospital. Better safe than sorry! But hopefully everything is ok

Taking a break week may help! But it’s not guaranteed. Just be sure to end your break on time

@machinegunke Irregular bleeding is a common side effect of the pill unfortunately. And it’s completely unpredictable. Sounds like you’re just a bit unlucky here…. as you’ve taken a break it might start again 😅 Personally I wouldn’t take a break week early until I’ve been bleeding for like 10+days, maybe try that next time you get breakthrough bleeding x

Yeah that happened to me in the past, the bleeding stopped when I took a break week lol. I just started taking my pills again at the time. I’ve since moved to another method though so no more meddling with breaks and all.

Should I just wait it out and take my pill after a weeks time or just carry on with the pill?

I’d just have your break now. If you have to have all the pills in your pack due to insurance then I would just save the rest of the pack for later on x
