Can doggy style increase your chances of getting a UTI? How long does a kidney/urinairy tract infection last for?

Sex itself just has a chance to cause a UTI. You need to see a doctor to get treatment.

UTI’s that turn into kidney infections need to be treated right away, and they hurt bad, I’ve had a developing kidney infection before (not quite a full blown kidney infection) and it hurt so bad to move so I’d recommend getting to a doctor to treat the uti before it develops into a kidney infection

How long did it take for you to get over the infection?

@Honeybee88 you don’t just get over it, you need antibiotics. See a doctor or go to the ER to get treatment ASAP. How quickly it’ll clear ur may depend on the treatment given, so ask your doctor.

I’ve already been to the ER and the pain was…excruciating hahaha but I got another round of antibiotics because the first wasn’t enough. Should I refrain from sex until I get better?

After a couple days of taking the antibiotics I felt much better, just make sure to finish all the antibiotics regardless of if you feel better or not, definitely don’t want it coming back

@Honeybee88 you should not engage in sex until the infection has been fully cleared. Probably best to get an urine test done to get clear results.
