Has anyone stopped birth control after 6 years or more? If so, what was your experience coming off the pill and what kind of symptoms did you have?

So I got off hormonal birth control and switched to the non-hormonal IUD and it was honestly terrible lol. My acne was the worst it ever was. It was so bad I had to go on antibiotics and I was about to go on accutane. I was also having terrible periods, which were exacerbated by the IUD. For me it was not worth it at all and I got a hormonal IUD soon after and that’s what I’ve used for the past 8 years.

Worst acne of my entire life, everything scarred, no topical treatment, cutting out dairy, expensive product made a single difference. I miss my perfect skin and have made peace with all the scars and acne that I have to deal with 24/7. While it feels like the worst decision ever, birth control made my mental health almost put me in the hospital. So being off of it is the best decision for me but damn I miss my old face lol

Off the pill since May after 7 years, honestly been pretty smooth for me. I went on the pill for acne so yes that’s come back but it’s not too bad usually. I’ve always had acne so tbh I’m just used to having bad skin 🤷🏻‍♀️ My periods have been fine, a little irregular at times but my natural periods before I went on the pill were not perfectly regular anyway. Mental health/emotional state wise I haven’t felt any difference. I am considering going on the hormonal IUD
