I stopped taking the pill in late mars. I hade a bleeding (period) short after as per usual. After that me and my boyfriend began trying to get pregnant. Now my period is 8 days late. I’ve taken pregnancy tests, all negative. I have small symptoms, such as sore breasts and mild stomach ache. However since I just went off the pill, I don’t know if my cycle has started yet. I’ve read that it sometimes takes months for the cycle to start.. Has anyone been in my situation? I don’t want to keep taking pregnancy tests for weeks, but at the same time what if I’m pregnant?

Generally the first bleed after stopping the pill is the withdrawal bleed (due to drop in hormones) and the next one would be the actual period. It can take up to a year for your body to adjust being off the pill, and side effects such as irregular bleeding, cramps, etc are common.

@xNymphadora thanks for the reply. What you’re saying is what I’ve understood as well. The tricky thing is that I don’t know whether I’m pregnant, or if my body hasn’t adjusted yet and that’s why my period is late… 😅 makes me go crazy haha

Pregnancy tests are 99% accurate if it's been 21+ days since sex. Otherwise you'll just have to wait and see.

Tests are accurate 3 weeks after sex. As said above unfortunately you may experience these kind of symptoms for up to a year after stopping the pill. Generally people are advised to wait until they have had one proper period after stopping birth control before starting to try and conceive, as it makes it easier to predict the due date.
