Hi everyone I know this app is for birth control but I’m not sure where else to ask, I use to be on the pill, I started in 2019 and took it everyday with no breaks, in 2021 I changed pills and took one where you have a break once a month for 7 days and bleed. I always bled during my break week unless I skipped it but I would still sometimes bleed a bit. I came off this pill February this year and I took my last pill on the 1st march. Since then I have bled every month the first couple months were irregular then I started bleeding once every month around the same time and they lasted no longer than 10 days. My last period however came earlier than usual and lasted 7 days. I have been ovulation testing for the last 3 months every time my period ends until the start of the next and not one ovulation test has been positive. Some have had very faint lines and others have had none but it has never been 2 dark lines. Sometimes I’ll test and it’ll be faint and then the next day there’s no faint line at all. I have missed days sometimes but so far this month I’ve tested everyday since my period ended on the 12th August and not one test has been positive. I’m starting to really worry that what if I don’t ovulate or can’t have children. My periods are never excruciatingly painful either the pain is like a 2/10 it’s not bad at all I just get very moody when I am due to come on but I also have acne which I think is hormonal and I’m really worried. Me and my partner have been having unprotected sex since I came off the pill and nothing has happened. Is this normal or could there be an issue I really hope someone can help as I really want to have a baby.

Have you seen your doctor to let them know you are trying to get pregnant? They can recommend fertility treatments. Ovulation usually occurs 2 weeks before you experience a period. However, since you’ve only quit birth control quite recently it can take 12-16 months for your bleeds to fully return to being fully regular. If your hormones are imbalanced it will disrupt your ovulation. In theory you can ovulate as soon as you become unprotected from birth control but it’s possible that it takes a while. Stress is another thing that can affect ovulation. Maybe it would be a good idea to stop the excessive testing and just let it happen for now, for most it takes a long time to conceive. If you’re really worried it’s best to see your doctor. One last thing I would recommend is that seeking out a pregnancy forum would probably be really helpful to you as most users in here have no desire to get pregnant and seem relatively young.
