Hello, I’ve started to use birth control about 6 months ago (15 years old) due to unnormal strong period cramps. But whenever im on my 7 days break, I still get my period? I never missed it and im always on time, is that normal?

Yes, the lack of hormones in the break week is designed to trigger bleeding. If you would like to not bleed, you can discuss skipping break weeks with your doctor. Be aware skipping break weeks is not guaranteed to prevent bleeding

It’s normal that you’re still getting your period. Are they just as bad as before you got on the pill? Part of the reason I first got on a combined pill was because my periods were very irregular and very painful (some days I had to stay home from school and could barely stand up) and the combined pill made them more regular and less intense. Do you have any other questions about periods and the pill? Mini pills can affect them differently too and usually make them lighter, if you’d want to talk to your doctor about those too.
