I need some second opinion on either switching or stopping my pill. I’ve been on the Yasmin combined pill for almost 4 years and I started to experience vaginal dryness, pain during sex, low sex drive, and often brown discharge which is so annoying (btw been experiencing this for almost a year now…) I talked to different nurses and they told me the pill shouldn’t cause these symptoms and I should use a vaginal moisture to help with this. I was hoping that the switch to a different pill might help but they didn’t recommend that so I went back home with the recommended vaginal moisture. (Ofc the moisture didn’t help with the pain during sex) Has anyone else experienced these issues? Did switching to a different pill help with that?? 🥲

I am very much experincing these issues I literally just made a post before you in fact I would love to know your recommended vaginal moisture I haven’t tried that yet. But try lube during sex masturbation usually helps get me wet and loosen up and relax a bit but it’s an inconvience to have to do that before sex everytime, as for pill switching I can’t help with that I haven’t done that im to scared to try anything other than the combination pill for many reasons :,)

@Blixy I was literally reading your post now haha glad to know I’m not alone in this. The vaginal moisturiser I use is called ‘YES VM’ vaginal moisturising gel, it’s in a dark pink package! Hope this helps x I’ve tried lube and it definitely helps but unfortunately I still swell up after sex. And the moisturiser did help a little but I still experience the pain and the pressure during sex so I feel like I definitely need to do something else but I’m just so lost😭

Birth control can definitely cause these issues, but there are other possibilities too, did they test you for infections or anything?

@aurielle yes! They swab tested me and was negative so I was thinking it must be the pill causing these symptoms, might need to push them to changing my pill brand

Those things are literally listed in the pamphlet as possible side effects.. it really sucks that nurses and doctors are so uneducated on birth control. I would personally try a different pill or method entirely to see if it helps with your side effects, you could always quit later down the line.
