I currently take a combined pill where I take pills for 21 days and have a 7 day pill break. I have been advised to changed to a progesterone only pill (POP) called Desogestrel. I have read through the instructions but not sure when to start taking it. Has anyone changed from the combined pill onto POP? Do I take the POP the day after my current pack ends? Or do I take it after the 7 day pill break?

In order to be protected instantly you’ll need to start on what would be the first day of your break week. If not it will take two days to be protected by the mini pill. I suggest reading the nhs website on the mini pill so you can learn more about it!
