Tw: fire Had the scariest day of my life yesterday First off it had gotten extremely windy Yesterday at 1:00 maybe 10-20 minutes after 1 I looked out the window to see what was behind my car do I go outside to see what it was I instantly could smell smoke outside Meanwhile I picked up a small trash can that we use for gardening, I put where it wouldn’t move I look on one of the news facebook pages and it had said Doyle, California was on fire so I thought it was that About 20 minutes later my dad texted me their was a fire up the hill from us I take my nap Then my dad comes and wakes me up to tell me the fire has grown He left to go to physical therapy but came back 5 minutes later saying it’s bad and people were trying to get to their homes up the hill He canceled his appt He called my mom to come home I told my dad to call a family friend to let her know she lives closer to where the fire jumped to Anyways our Nextdoor neighbor told us to evacuate since he works for one of the fire departments so we all packed up our cars I literally panic packed and got everything that I loved meaning all my clothes, blankets, money savings, laptop and etc I saw at least 5 cops drive up and down my neighborhood By 4 or 5 we got word we would be ok to stay The fire was about a mile or 2 close by but I’m not good with that This is literally the second time we have gotten lucky First time it happened which was 9 years ago today, I had no idea their was a fire so I went to work as normal, I did not see smoke I get to work and park I’m listening to the news and the guy goes “all schools are canceled due to the fire” So I called my office to ask and my boss said theirs no school Yesterday it started in the middle of the day where as the one 9 years ago started in the middle of the night The school up the hill has to evacuate to the high school that is close to downtown What I didnt understand is why they closed the middle school and High school for today Their was no mention of them being evacuation centers Now that I think about it, those schools most likely had students who lived up where the fire was My thoughts are with the people who have lost their homes, as total of 12 I believe got burnt 🤷‍♀️

Damn this must have been so stressful and I’m sorry for the people whose homes got ruined. But I’m glad you’re okay. Stay safe!
