I read my pamphlet and a lot of websites and they haven’t really given me the answer lm looking for so, are you only unprotected on birth control during the very first week when you first start taking it?

No no gal x the first week when you start if you take your pill perfectly you are protected on your break week ans throughout the packet

So basically when you take the pill for the first time ever or after a break or missing pills then you have 7 days not protected x

Noooo @gingerhen She means if you were to take a break entirely from birth control. Break probably wasn’t the best wording since the one week in between packs is also called a break week. You are only unprotected when you FIRST START birth control ever OR if you miss pills, start a pack late, or go back on birth control after being off complete for a period of time

And also sometimes if you switch pills that aren’t the same dosage or if you have a medication that actual affects the pills efficacy.
