I’ve been using the Nuvaring for 6 months now. Every three weeks I replace it with a new ring as I’m trying to control my heavy periods. It was working for a while but now I currently have had my period for 11 days. Is this normal?!

To be honest I don’t think it is normal considering nuvaring should make your periods lighter/shorter

But if it happens only once I wouldn’t worry about it

Unfortunately irregular bleeding is a common side effect of bc. If it continues consider going back to your doctor and switching to something else.

@stefi42 so do you always have your ring in or do you have a break week

^ ? If you’re continuously using it with no breaks you can keep a ring in for 28 days before switching to a new one, you don’t need to change it every 3 weeks.

@ilhwamh it states in the NuvaRing pamphlet on this app that you can keep it in for 28 days and remain protected, you can even safely have a break week after the 28 days.
