Hi! Any tips for taking care of a recently pierced ear? ☺️

Normally the shop you pierced your ear at should give you solution to clean it for a few weeks. But if you don’t have I normally use warm water with salt and use a cotton bud to clean around it! Twice a day by the way :)

Rubbing alcohol is also good to clean around it with a qtip!

Don’t use Rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide they will dry it out and it won’t heal. Use saline solution or just a salt water mixture!

@Logic I’ve always used rubbing alcohol and it’s worked for me, never tried it out.

I would call your piercer and ask them. Definitely don’t use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. It’ll only slow the healing process, dry it out, and kill healthy cells.

Clean with warm salt water 2-3 times a day.

Warm non iodine sea salt or saline solution

I have an industrial piercing and that area can be very sensitive. Never use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide! A warm salt water mixture really helped with the healing process.

Salt water twice a day but not table salt !!!! Only rock salt or sea salt and don’t fiddle with it

In addition to my 1st’s and 2nd’s on my lobes, I have also had my nipple, helix, and conch pierced and Dove bar soap works amazing! I honestly never bothered buying the solution they try to sell you because I just never ended up actually using it so I didn’t wanna waste $ on it. I’ve used Dove unscented bar soap or Cetaphil cleanser since I always have those products laying around. Don’t directly put the bar of soap on your ear though, lather it with your hands. I found it easiest to use it in the shower and especially after washing my hair to ensure no shampoo&conditioner was left in my piercing.

DO NOT use rubbing alcohol. Use a saline solution (salt water) 2-3 times a day. I’ve had many piercings. Don’t mess with it when you aren’t cleaning with it, try to leave it alone as much as you can. Enjoy your new look 😊🔥

also try to avoid sleeping on that side and be careful when putting on shirts and brushing your hair! Looks beautiful btw!
