is it normal for gynos to refuse to give/install the implant because they think the pill is better ?

Absolutely not normal! It is up to the patient’s decision on what they want to do with their body. They can advise all they want but they are all reputable methods of birth control. I would find a new gyno asap!

No. You should find a different doctor. In the US, you could likely even get it prescribed by your GP

it’s probably a good idea to also talk to their higher up and maybe even file a complaint because that’s very unprofessional and goes against medical practice as they are letting their own beliefs stop them from offering healthcare especially as the pill isn’t better than the implant it’s actually less effective

@ghost_poetry good obviously if you don’t feel comfortable doing that you don’t have to however it is a good idea as if they refused to give it to you they will probably do the same for others which isn’t fair as then lots of people may continue on the pill even if it’s not what they want to do

you should definitely find a doctor who can treat you based on your medical needs and choice. a doctor shouldn't refuse to give you a medical treatment that is suited to you.
