Hey! I’m thinking about switching from my pill to the shot. I was just wondering what I should know beforehand! Like personal experiences? Ive tried doing some research but I just wanted to hear from others!

Everyone reacts differently. Someone could have a great experience on it while another could have a negative experience. That’s why it’s not the best idea to base your experience off of others.

@bebeyoda_ I know! I was just wondering how others were on it that all in case people had experienced something I haven’t researched yet. It never hurts to ask😊

TW: weight gain Well if you want to know, I was on the shot. I bled nonstop for 3 months straight. It is also the only known birth control to directly cause weight gain. I didn’t gain weight on it. But like I said, everyone is different so don’t take this too seriously. And I know it doesn’t hurt to ask but I was also letting you know why it’s not a good idea to base your experience off of others experience!

If you want to know about all of the side effects of the shot, you can look it up on the nhs website.

@bebeyoda_ thank you! I’ve been hearing from my friends that they also were bleeding nonstop, that was my main concern because I just didn’t know if it was worth it or not haha. I will definitely look it up!

I was on the shot for 3 years and didn’t have a problem, now there was a bit of spotting now an then randomly but it wouldn’t last long though, everyone is different and had different experiences that’s why u find out which form of birth control is right for u an your body no harm in giving it a try .

My Friend who got the shot didn’t respond well at all and she ended up developing cysts and benign tumors that they believe are related to the shot
