How difficult is it to move out with a s/o? Not buying a house but just an apartment?

My boyfriend and I are in the process of buying our first house together. We’ve been renting together for 1 and a half years and although the process of buying a house is a bit stressful it’s really exciting and a lot easier if you’re a buyer that’s not in a chain (i.e not selling a property at the same time)
