I’m going to nursing school. As for others, people should be encouraged but not forced. People shouldn’t feel ashamed or less than for not going to college.

I think it’s good to work for a few years or work abroad for a while if you’re not sure what to do! College is so much better when you’re doing something you care about 🙂 College isn’t for everyone either, and is something you can do later in life too.

I’ve graduated, I can honestly say college isn’t for everyone.

For me personally it was the best thing I ever did, it helped me grow as a person, get educated and be a more critical thinker and taught me to be passionate about social justice issues. I'm now pursuing a doctorate and hope to work in higher education. However I recognize that it isn't accessible for everyone financially or socially.

It’s not for everyone and it’s not the only pathway that can lead to a good job. It’s a privilege to be able to afford the expenses that comes with it in most countries. The actual college work is not easy and can be quite stressful

Post secondary school isn’t for me. I went to college for a year after high school and didn’t like it, and September 2020 I went to university for a few months but dropped it. I don’t think it’s a necessity. There are plenty of other ways to make a really good living without having to go to school.

TW: food, health I really enjoyed the learning actually. Yes deadlines, assignments, staying awake in class sucked, but I found something I was really good at and loved. I pursued what I loved even though people told me I’d be unemployed and judged me, but now I’m working at the exact place I wanted to 🤷‍♀️ Following my gut to do what I was passionate about was the key to me having a good uni experience. I didn’t have the “college”/“uni” experience though of making a ton of friends. I was mostly on my own but I was okay with that. I will say that I got into very unhealthy habits of not making time to eat/eating really little, not sleeping enough. Now that I’m out, I feel much healthier and energized since I feel like I have more time to take care of myself.

I really enjoyed university, so much I so that I went on to do my master's and also my PhD. It's a lot of hard work but it also allows you grow as a person so I think it's worth it. I do understand it isn't an option for everyone financially and there are plenty of jobs and careers that do not require you to be university educated. Also remember that even if it isn't possible now, you can always go back later in life if it's something you really want to do. I think one of the downsides with uni (in Ireland anyway) is that you have to decide your career at 17/18, you go into uni with a degree already set in stone and if you don't like it it's very hard to change without reapplying to uni whereas I believe places like the US give you the option of not starting with a set major and you can choose your major later (correct me if I'm wrong)

If you can afford it do it, if you can’t do your best to get grants and scholarships. If you know deep down in your heart you don’t need nor want a degree start claiming the work force ladder as soon as you graduate and if after a few years you don’t think it’s for you get your self into college as soon as you can.

More me it was the best decision especially as I moved from home for it, it helped me grow my independence and understand (and open my eyes to) political/social issues a lot more. I couldn’t have got my current job without my degree too and I personally think it’s easier to go up in salary with a degree as there are more growth opportunities. It does depend on the person, their career goals and financial circumstances though.

It depends on why you’re doing it. There can be personal growth, if the job you want to do requires it etc. I have a degree, the experience wasn’t bad but no where near are great as many say. This is really a personal decision to take depending on your goals, motivations, capacities and finances x

For me it was a great decision. But that’s partly because I live in a country where it’s free and you don’t pay any tuition fees, application fees etc. If I lived somewhere where I would have to take a loan to pay for the tuition I’m not sure if it would have been worth it tbh.

College is definitely different for everyone and sometimes it’s not for everyone and sometimes going there and seeing how it is is the best option to see how you like it. I absolutely loved it, I made life long friends, gained so much confidence and came out of my shell. I was much more involved at school and I loved my classes/learning etc. even if you don’t know what you want to do yet like career wise you can take general education courses and figure it out. I changed my major once & im still graduating on time, but I’m even moving to the major city where my school is because I don’t want to leave hahahah but it was the best decision. I wish I would’ve been more educated regarding loans etc bc it’s a pain and unfortunately the u.s. overcharges for everything. Not sure if you’re in the states or not

It’s a scam and it’s classist because its extremely expensive and no one wants to hire anyone who doesn’t have 5 years of experience. Speaking from experience 💀

I did it and while there are a lot of great jobs you can get without any secondary schooling or doing trades instead. There is still a need for secondary education for certain jobs such as doctors. I enjoyed learning but I didn’t enjoy the testing part of secondary school

I feel like college isn’t for everyone but like there is no way in knowing unless you try it.
