Just a little PSA regarding blow libido on the combined pill. 😊💕 I was on the combo pill for about 4 years and my sex drive slowly got worse and worse until it became non existent. I tried switching pill brands until I eventually gave in and switched to the copper IUD. After only a month of being off hormones and on the IUD my sex drive has completely sky rocketed. I know lots of girls struggle with a low libido and I know everyone is different but I encourage anyone with this problem to try a different method of BC! I was so set on the pill but I can say that switching was the best thing I could have done for my body.

I kind of want to switch to IUD because I’m not a huge fan of taking hormones

@rosiebabyxo i just switched to the Copper IUD a few weeks ago. How is spotting for you?? I’ve been spotting on and off since getting it inserted. With cramps that come and go, too.

@bellalasoares I bled irregularly for about 3 weeks after insertion with the final few days being my period which was way heavier than normal, but since then I haven’t spotted at all

I really need to do this. My hormones are all over the place and sex drive is getting worse. the thing that puts me off is the pain. I haven’t had kids and heard that it is really painful?

How painful is it the pain factor is what is putting me off

@XxkxX @Yasmin666 my doctor numbed me by giving me a shot in my cervix so my pain was close to none to get it inserted, however I had horrible cramps the rest of the day and was still slightly uncomfortable the following day. I don’t think it’s super common for doctors to numb you but maybe look in your area to see if anyone does, I barely felt a thing it was more of just pressure. I was hesitant because of the pain as well but I can say it wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting.

@rosiebabyxo thank you. Are you in the uk? I wonder if my doctors numb. How long did it take to feel normal again? I want to change to the IUD so bad but I’m so scared lol

I’m in the US. After 2 days my cramping went away and for a week or so after that I was slightly sick to my stomach, which I’m assuming was from the IUD. I bled for 3 weeks after insertion and now it’s been just over a month since I switched and I’m so happy, I’d do it again in a second

I've been struggling with low libido for months! I'm happy to hear the IUD worked for you in that aspect. I've been thinking about it for a long time so I might bring it up at my next appointment.

@rosiebabyxo how was your cramping the first 3 weeks? I think I’m ovulating right now and it’s hurting pretty bad. And I’ll get random cramps every now and then. Do you exercise a lot? I’ve been so scared of exercising since having it inserted. I’m terrified of having it expelled or move further up when doing squats or something. I know I should be fine but still 😬

@bellalasoares my cramps were terrible the day of and then got better in the following days, by day 3 or 4 I wasn’t cramping at all, I was slightly sick to my stomach though for about a week. cramping on my period was only slightly worse than normal but blood flow was heavier. I started working out regularly about 2 weeks ago and haven’t had any problems, I do squats and all kinds of stuff 😜
