Hello Everyone, i really need everyone’s opinion here. So i’m a full time working nursery apprentice at the age of 19 years old, i pay my own phone bill, miscellaneous etc…. How much rent a month would you charge by your parent/s or think to be charged if you were in my situation and living at home? TIA

I live in the UK just to add, not sure if that would make a difference

None as long as you’re saving a bit, I think your parents home should be your safe place and our generation got fucked over with the housing market.

@bluerose9 that’s just how much i pay my mum a month, so including. I also share a room with my younger sister and am never usually at home as i work 40+hours a week

Unless your parents are financially struggling, I do not believe you should pay any rent. We’re in a f*cked economy where no one can even afford a house, we need all the money we can save. You can help out with groceries if you’d like

^ unless your parents genuinely can’t pay the bills without your help, i think being expected to pay that amount of money to them is very unfair.
