Drink lots of water. If you want some junk food, have some junk food, but instead of having a full bar of chocolate, have half and leave the rest until later, or instead of eating 2 packs of crisps, eat one, etc. Restricting yourself totally will only lead to you craving it more and going crazy when you get it lol Try buying less junk food, the less you have the less you’re going to be tempted. If you’re not the one buying the snacks ask the person who is to buy less/put the snacks in a different place. If you want a snack, fruit (apples, bananas, oranges, a handful of berries or grapes, whatever you have), yogurts, popcorn, crackers etc are ‘healthier’ things to snack on x

Try to eat foods that will keep you fuller for longer, like adding pulses (beans, lentils, chickpeas) to your meals, eggs, oats etc. I have started to make batches of homemade soup for my weekday lunches. Pulses blend up nicely in soup, are good for you and make the soup more filling (as well as the high water content in most soups). Soup is a great way to get vegetables in if you aren't so good at eating them otherwise. If you aren't into cooking obviously you can buy canned soup.

If you have cravings make sure you eat the things you want some of the time. Or as said above just practice moderation! Finding a balance with your diet is a journey I always try to remember that. I usually eat so healthy all day long cause I love healthy foods then the other day I was craving sweets midday and had 5 cookies with milk and later that night I had ice cream with sprinkles lol I was like wow okay I ate all that stuff today but it’s ok I’ll just keep on with my healthy eating tomorrow! Usually I moderate my desserts/sweets but it didn’t happen that day and it’s okay you can’t be perfect every day! The best lesson I’ve learned is to never punish myself for over eating or eating junk, it always made it worse for me. I just move on and get back on track :)

But yes setting yourself up for success starting at the grocery is very good practice. Also, I don’t buy loads at the grocery anymore. I usually stop and buy what I need for dinner that night and that keeps me from buying a bunch of snacks or food I won’t eat. I always start in the produce isle, that is the base for my dinner, what veggies am I starting with? Then go from there.
