My tattoo artist said to wash it with unscented soap or just water whatever you prefer and pat it dry with a towel. For moisturising I use Palmers cocoa butter up to twice a day. Your artist should’ve given you some advice too!

Your tattoo artist should have given you after care instructions. Every tattoo artist has their own after care instructions. This is what my tattoo artist after care instructions are. * Remove bandage no sooner than 4 hours. * Wash area gently, but well, removing any blood or ointment. Use a mild soap and warm to hot water using only your fingers. Rinse well to remove all soap. BLOT DRY, DO NOT RUB. No rubbing until tattoo is completely healed. * Allow the tattoo to air dry for about 15 minutes, DO NOT apply another bandage * Begin applying a VERY THIN film of aftercare ointment or lotion as often as 3 times a day in order to keep your tattoo moist. It is very IMPORTANT that your tattoo does not appear wet and gooey from the ointment. This process will prevent a scabbing from forming. * Your tattoo should peel like a sunburn. If a scab should form it is very important not to pick or tamper with it. It will flake off naturally in several days. * ALWAYS keep your tattoo clean. DO NOT soak in a tub, jacuzzi or pool. Always blot dry until tattoo is healed. * Your tattoo MUST be protected from the sun while it is healing. After the tattoo is healed we recommend the use of a good sun block. * We recommend the use of the aftercare ointment or lotion for 3-4 days, then switch to a good quality, fragrance free, skin moisturizer for about 2 weeks until your tattoo is healed. Your tattoo will remain bright, crisp, and clear if you take care of your skin. Remember… your tattoo can only look as good as your skin…. so continue to moisturize daily.

^^ I’ve always been told to put the ointment and lotion on as if you are taking it off. You don’t want it to be shiny or sticky to the touch.

I just recently started using saniderm to heal my tattoos it’s so worth it so if you ever have the opportunity to try it it’s a life saver!! However I usually heal it the normal method of ointment and soap. I use Dial unscented foam soap it’s so simple and easy to the touch! I then pat dry with a paper towel and wait until it’s fully dried then I apply the tiniest of aquaphor. After about a week I started using Aveeno unscented lotion in replace of the aquaphor. I have over 20 tattoos and I have healed them all the same!! Just be patient and gentle with your new tattoo as it is an open wound. Once it starts peeling it’ll be easier to take care of. Hope any of this helps!!!

@nikeyxo he did give me advice but I didn’t understand so much because I got it done in another country and didn’t understand him so much. He wrapped it in clingfilm how long should I keep it on for?

You’re supposed to definitely take the wrap off a few hours after or maximum a day after the tattoo So you should be good to take it off now

Just make sure when you sleep to leave it out from under the covers for the first couple of days. I sometimes usually prop it up on a pillow if it’s on my arms. Try to avoid rolling on it or touching it as much as possible bc things will stick to it and it’s going to be sensitive for a bit

definitely take it off now, taking it off allows the healing process to start and don’t cover it with cling film again
