Does anyone have any experience with super long distance relationships which involve living on two different continents? Or do you know someone who had to go through such a thing? If so how did that work out?

During the first year of my LDR my boyfriend and I were in different continents (8 hour flight away). It was difficult because obviously it cost a lot of money and time to see each other, which is why we didn’t meet often. But if both people are up for the challenge and are willing to make it work, it’s worth it.

In this situation myself at the minute. Luckily it’s short term (6 months!) it’s hard, the time difference is so so frustrating it’s so difficult to schedule Skypes. More manageable because I know it’s coming to an end and he’ll be back soon! Don’t know how it would work long term

My best friend is from Russia and she had been studying here in Italy since 2012. They see each other just during holidays and summer holidays (in Italy we have 3 months of summer holidays) and they have been together for 7 years

Just ignore all those people who tell you it will never work. It only will work though if you communicate, stay strong and have trust in each other
