Hey guys! I’m on the combination pill, in a couple of weeks when I’m supposed to be on my break week I’m going on vacation. My doctor mentioned I could somehow control the bleeding with the pill. I’m not sure how to go about this. Any advice ?

@Mac12 there’s no guarantee you can control your bleed. sometimes you may never bleed at all, but you could take your break a week earlier? that might help but there is no guarantee! x

you can skip your break week altogether by starting a new pack at the placebo pills. it doesn’t guarantee you won’t bleed, but any bleeding should be minimal

Instead of taking a break week you continue with a new pack so you would skip your break week. There is no way of telling whether or not you will still bleed.

If it is in a couple weeks, I recommend having your break week one or two weeks prior to the vacation and to take active pills as long as you’re away. I know it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t bleed but personally I have never experienced breakthrough when skipping my break week and I have quite some friends that have only 4 break weeks each year and don’t bleed either! I hope the same applies to you.
