hi!! so i’ve skipped my period twice so two packs and i’m experiencing bleeding 1 week into my new pack every time??? what can i do to prevent the bleeding so early. i have 2 more weeks left of my active pills. should i be afraid also i feel like it’s counterintuitive to be getting my period 2 weeks when i’m supposed to get it when the whole point is to try to skip it lol ❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌💤💤💤💤💤💤💤❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌⏱ Brand: Ortho Tri-Cyclen

For me the reason I got breakthrough bleeding while trying to skip my pill was because the estrogen levels weren’t high enough. I started with 14 and I’d get breakthrough bleeding and now I’m on one that’s 30 and I never get breakthrough bleeding. You can’t do anything to prevent it and there’s nothing that should draw concern, breakthrough bleeding is a normal side effect of the pill.

@July11 thank you i’m definitely gonna look into a higher dosage! should i try to not take any pills and bleed it out and get back to the pills or is that dangerous. i’ve been on the pill for over 6 months

i just don’t want to be bleeding for the next 3 weeks lol

@nyc718 if you’ve taken 21 active pills in a row with none missed (I’m assuming your have since you go back to back on pill packs) then you’re safe to go off them anytime. Give yourself a 4/5 day break and that should clear it up. I also skip my period but if I get breakthrough bleeding if I do it for many months in a row then I give my body a break off my pills for a few days to get everything out and it’s worked well for me so far.

@nyc718 I looked up that brand and it looks like the birth control you’re on has varying levels of estrogen and progesterone throughout the pill package. I recommend switching to a birth control where the levels are steady and that should help because at the end of your pack before the placebo pills the estrogen levels are low and that signals your body to bleed. Maybe try marvelon or if you are on that pill for acne try diane 35
